Baby, I've got a crèche on you...

Updated: Feb 2

This is dedicated to the One I love...

...and hastily-crafted today before we meet on the amazing Brentwood campus of the Sisters of St. Joseph...I came back here and added a few things after our meeting.

This post started as my intention to send some humor to Ray - a friend who participates in a group we're both part of: Men2Men. There are currently 9 blog posts about this great group of guys. (On the blog homepage in the Search window type "Men2Men"...

Among his many talents is making Nativity crèche's from driftwood he collects. Here's one that greets visitors to our home. When he gifted it to me during a visit to his New Hyde Park home, he said I could take anyone I wanted. Many were MUCH LARGER than this humble shelter...from the storm...

..but this one seemed suitable for our humble adobe...abode...in West Hempstead.

2/1/24: See newly added video of the display below the next three images.

Here's Ray entry into the exhibit. He calls it "De Mari" (Latin for "of the sea")

--Please excuse my amateur status...

Okay, now you have my intention...Oh, Lord...my intention is good...Oh, Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood...

Post-post Addition

At our monthly Men2Men gatherings, before we have our circle time, we chow down in the main cafeteria...with the Sisters (of St. Joseph). So, this morning, I approached a table of 8 valiant ladies and asked if I could speak with them. After receiving permission, I told them that one of our group - Ray - makes creche's from driftwood. At that, one of the Sisters tells me that someone else on campus is getting ready to have a display of creche's and is looking for contributions. WOW! I was led there...like the wise men...I showed them the quick flyer I brought with me that contained a thumbnail of this post along with a QR code to access it.

HOW COOL IS THIS? I became the first person in her life to show her HOW to use a QR!!!

As I see it, it musta been the right place AND the right time...

Now, this next classic gives a different message...But, that won't stop me from sharing good music...

So, here are some of the funny fruits of my wanderings in the online wilderness...

How about the gift of HUMILITY...?

Or, more practical gifts...from and for the party of the first part...the ones who know because they do the real heavy lifting...
