MY INSPIRATION: I'm a BIG fan of the whole line of Califia Farms' delicious plant-based food offerings. So, pour some of your favorite "plant medicine" and join me as we travel from Brooklyn to San Diego to see artists at work...
Considering the Califia Farms Cold Brew image that follows, why not pour yourself a
"Cup o' Joe"...until you can get to your local Whole Foods or other stores that carry their line (locator).
Who was Califia?
Many people regard California as a land of golden opportunity, where people go to make dreams come true in the fields of entertainment, technology, agriculture, and industry. However, many Californians would probably be surprised to know that their home state is named after a strong and self-sufficient Black queen named Calafia (sometimes spelled Califia) who ruled over a golden island in Muslim mythology.
Another post follows about this mythical woman of power...

Mallory Heyer
Califia Farms commisioned Brooklyn graphic designer and illustrator Mallory Heyer to create the following 40' by 60' wall art/ad in San Francisco.

In the above video, Mallory credits this musical artist for some of her inspiration for the mural.

Niki de Saint Phalle
If you’re looking for an interesting destination without a crowd - a short drive north of San Diego, you can find a magical, enchanted space, just waiting to be discovered and explored. Queen Califia's Magical Circle is the only American sculpture garden and the last major international project created by French artist, Niki de Saint Phalle.
